The Association of International Shipping Lines’ Patrick Ronas and Atty. Max Cruz, and the Chamber of Customs Brokers’ Atty. Ferdinand Nague, are joining SCMAP’s final General Membership Meeting of 2018, to be held on 15 November at the EDSA Shangri-la Manila in Mandaluyong City.

They join the Export Development Council’s Dr. Henry Basilio as they assess the state of Philippine supply chain in light of recent developments affecting the year-end peak period, like port congestion and issues surrounding the Bureau of Customs.

Patrick Ronas is president of the AISL, and is also currently executive vice president and general manager of MStar Ship Agencies, managing director of Celadon Quadrant Services and projects director of Container Bridge Philippines. He was also previously AISL president from 2009 to 2011.

Atty. Max Cruz is AISL’s general manager and also a consultant on customs and international trade. He was previously with the Bureau of Customs, acting as a collector for the Manila International Container Terminal, South Harbor and Port of Batangas, where he received commendations for successfully implementing reforms.

Atty. Ferdinand Nague is president of the CCBI, and also a managing partner of Nague Malic Magnawa & Associates, one of the country’s biggest customs brokerage firms. He led efforts to expand customs brokerage education for the Commission of Higher Education and Professional Regulation Commission.

Apart from a discussion of these burning supply chain issues, the GMM will also provide updates on SCMAP’s upcoming events for the rest of 2018 and beyond. The event will also see the start of online voting for the 2019 Board of Directors – the members of which will be announced at the Christmas fellowship on 6 December.

Registration is now open; click here to sign up. Attendance is free for one representative per SCMAP member company. Additional representatives will be charged PHP 1,000, while non-members will be charged PHP 1,100. Those who register from 14 November onwards, as well as walk-in participants, will be charged PHP 1,200. Sponsorship opportunities are also available; click here for more information.
