SCMAP has launched a new chapter in Mindanao, expanding its presence further to all important economic hubs in the Philippines.

Based in Davao, with a significant membership in Cagayan de Oro, the chapter is expected to cater to businesses across Mindanao. The chapter is established as the region gears up for stronger economic sentiment due to increased investment in infrastructure and the wider recognition of the importance of Mindanao’s competitiveness and of maintaining lings within and outside the Philippines through ports in Davao, Cagayan de Oro and elsewhere.

The chapter was officially established at the first convenors’ meeting held on 25 August at Tiny Kitchen in Davao City. The lunch meeting, attended by locators in Davao as well as by SCMAP secretary Dina Pilapil and executive director Norman Adriano, was an informal gathering where supply chain issues and concerns were discussed.

The chapter’s inaugural list of officers are the following:

President: Ma. Lourdes Monteverde (Verdemonte Enterprises)
Vice President: Khaisa King (Asia Glass Palace)
Secretary: Eunice Marie Garte (CMA CGM)
Treasurer: Julie Ann Gawat (LF Logistics)
Auditor: Rico Oñate (Promark)

The chapter plans to mount one General Membership Meeting this year, details of which will be revealed as they are finalized.

SCMAP Mindanao is the organization’s third regional chapter, after the founding of the Visayas chapter based in Cebu, and the North Luzon chapter based in Clark.
