SCMAP’s next General Membership Meeting, set for 15 August from 1pm to 5pm at the EDSA Shangri-la Manila in Mandaluyong City, will tackle the issue of connectivity and its importance in supply chain.
As new technologies play a stronger role both in the front lines and behind the scenes of supply chain, the importance of robust and responsive network infrastructure has been stressed. As the emergence of Logistics 4.0 starts to be felt among both large players and small businesses, government has made moves to expand on longstanding complaints of high Internet prices and low speeds, particularly the awarding of a new license to operate on a third telecoms company, Mislatel.
The GMM will look into these efforts to expand connectivity, and also get clarification and reaction from stakeholders involved in these initiatives. Speakers will be confirmed in the coming days, as we continue to seek speakers from Mislatel and the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
Attendance to the event is free for one representative per SCMAP member company, with additional pre-registered member delegates to be charged PHP 1,200 per head. Non-members can take part at PHP 1,500 per head. Members with overdue charges can not avail of the free slot or member rate.
