The winners of the first Supply Chain Philippines Excellence Awards, honoring the most impactful work across Philippine supply chain, were named during ceremonies held at the 2024 SCMAP Supply Chain Conference last 13 September.
Four projects implemented by SCMAP member companies were honored for their achievements in furthering innovation and sustainability across the supply chain:
The Supply Chain Digitalization and Automation for Manufacturers and Retailers honor was awarded to Procter & Gamble Philippines for Project Agos, which took advantage of advanced data analytics to improve supply chain efficiency and increase customer satisfaction.
The Supply Chain Digitalization and Automation for Logistics Providers honor was awarded to Schenker Philippines Inc. for a project which automated address verification for its drivers, utilized data gleaned from Google Maps.
The Sustainability and Green Logistics for Manufacturers and Retailers honor was awarded to Nestlé Philippines for Project Elmer, which sought to eliminate the use of stretch film in the storage of finished goods with more sustainable options.
The Sustainability and Green Logistics for Logistics Providers honor was awarded to Fast Logistics for its initiatives to transition their distribution and warehousing footprint towards renewable energy and electric vehicles.
The winners were judged by an esteemed panel of experts, including former SCMAP president Christine Pardiñas; former SCMAP directors Amante Aguilar Jr., Dario Arive Jr. and Alipio Bernardo IV; as well as De La Salle University’s Dr. Ma. Victoria Tibon and the Department of Trade and Industry’s Jonathan Cabaltera.
In addition, SCMAP also honored two member companies with First Mover Awards for their pioneering initiatives in moving Philippine supply chain. These were awarded to Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines for its initiatives to reduce plastic waste by implementing a bottle collection scheme and investing in PET bottle recycling; and Mober Technology Pte Ltd for introducing electric vehicles in the country’s logistics space and continually advocating for green logistics.
The second edition of the Supply Chain Philippines Excellence Awards will be held in 2025, honoring projects implemented in 2024. More details will be revealed soon.
