This year’s edition of Supply Chain Immersion, one of SCMAP’s flagship events, was held last 19-22 April, with participants visiting Puerto Princesa City, the capital of Palawan province.

Across four days, 35 delegates gained a deeper understanding of how to leverage emerging technologies and foster a culture of collaboration to address logistics challenges. This was done through both talks on-board MV St. Francis Xavier bound for Puerto Princesa, as well as in the city itself. There were also workshops and fellowship opportunities allowing delegates to forge new relationships and learn more from each other.

Speaking on board were SCMAP directors Jennifer Alcano of Maersk Omnichannel Fulfillment, Jose Marvin Casipe of San Miguel Yamamura Packaging Corporation, and Mark Anthony Lagunaof Procter & Gamble. Also speaking in Puerto Princesa was Aldrich Go of Stanrich Marketing, one of the region’s biggest CPG distributors, to discuss the province’s logistics landscape and challenges.

The event also showcased the true power of collaboration, with guests from the Department of Trade and Industry (led by Undersecretary Mary Jean Pacheco) and De La Salle University (led by School of Lifelong Learning dean Dr. Rodiel Ferrer) joining to give their inputs and insights.

Of course, the event also allowed participants to unwind through a whistle-stop tour of the Ecotourism Center of the Philippines, with visits to prominent landmarks such as the Iwahig Penal Farm, the Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center and the iconic Immaculate Conception Cathedral in the city center.

We would like to thank our event sponsors Anchanto and our travel partners 2GO for their invaluable support to this event.
