SCMAP kicked off the year with its annual Supply Chain Outlook event, held last 22 February at the Symphony Ballrooms of the Westin Manila in Mandaluyong City.
Once again, the event gathered industry stakeholders and leaders to discuss the issues and developments that are set to affect the Philippine supply chain sector in the year ahead.
Speaking at the event were Department of Trade and Industry undersecretary Mary Jean Pacheco, who discussed applying a supply chain lens to addressing regional industry issues; Philippine Retailers Association president Roberto Claudio Sr., who presented an overview of the current state of the country’s retail sector; and REID Foundation’s Ronilo Balbieran, who once again presented his economic outlook for the year.
The event also featured the induction of the SCMAP Board of Directors for 2023, led by Dennis Llovido of Nestle Philippines as president. Joining him are Pierre Carlo Curay of XVC Logistics, president-elect; Sharon Musngi-Ngo of 2GO Group, secretary; Jess Sarmiento of PLDT, treasurer; Mark Anthony Laguna of Procter & Gamble Philippines, auditor; and Jennifer Alcano of Maersk Omnichannel Fulfillment, Rolando Bermudez of Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines, Jose Marvin Casipe of San Miguel Yamamura Packaging Corporation, Kareen Co of Unilever Philippines and John Wayne Maravilla of Johnson & Johnson Philippines, directors.
In his address, Llovido vowed a year of firsts for SCMAP, including plans to launch the first ever Supply Chain Philippines Excellence Awards, a training partnership with Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro, and new events addressing specific supply chain issues. There are also plans to expand our flagship events, such as the Supply Chain Immersion happening in Puerto Princesa in April, and the 2024 SCMAP Supply Chain Conference slated for 12-13 September.
The event finally featured the induction of the organization’s newest members.
