SCMAP Visayas conducted its first in-person event since the onset of the pandemic, with the successful 2022 Visayas Logistics Summit held at the Bai Hotel Cebu in Mandaue City last 7 October.
As the country continues to emerge from COVID-19 with a greater appreciation of the role supply chain plays in moving the economy and quality of life, the event brought together key stakeholders from across Central Visayas to discuss logistics issues, challenges and opportunities.
Speaking at the event were Big Blue Logistics’ Nikolaus Stumpf, talking about the challenges of establishing the country’s largest AS/RS site; LF Logistics’ Ramil Martinez, discussing the benefits of introducing Lean Six Sigma in day-to-day operations; and Chelsea Logistics’ Chryss Damuy and Prime Movers Total Logistics’ Mark Anthony Ynoc on how their companies are dealing with the continuing rise in fuel prices. Also joining the event as panelist was Big Blue Logistics head Bobong Castillo. SCMAP president Pierre Carlo Curay also visited from Manila to present updates from the national organization.
The event was followed by a networking dinner, providing delegates with an opportunity to network face-to-face with colleagues as well as the event’s sponsors.
The SCMAP Visayas Logistics Summit is presented alongside partner sponsors Boeing Material Handling Corporation, Chelsea Logistics, Fast Logistics, LF Logistics, and OPASCOR; diamond sponsors Globalport Terminals and Isuzu Cebu; silver sponsors Island Premium Paints, K-Lift Industrial Corporation, Metro Cebu Harbor Pilots, Paca Group of Companies and Philippine Span Asia Carrier Corporation; and bronze sponsors Astro Shipmanagement, Alberca Sound and Lights, MJS Gasoline Station, Pacificrose Shipping Services, Pier 88 Ventures, Prime Movers Total Logistics and Ram Tyres.
