SCMAP held the first Supply Chain Leaders’ Lunch, a kick-off event to the 2022 SCMAP Supply Chain Conference, last 14 September at the EDSA Shangri-la Manila in Mandaluyong City.
The invitation-only event was an intimate gathering of key supply chain stakeholders from industry and government, including representatives from the country’s major manufacturers, retailers and logistics providers, as well as policy makers and thought leaders. It provided a venue to discuss major challenges and opportunities posed to the industry, and the output would help SCMAP in its continuing engagements with various stakeholders as well as its members, beginning with this year’s conference, which will be held on 22-23 September.
Among those in attendance were Anti-Red Tape Authority deputy director general (and SCC22 speaker) Ernesto Perez, and Department of Trade and Industry assistant secretary Mary Jean Pacheco, providing government with an opportunity to relay its initiatives to the high-level supply chain executives in attendance.
Several past SCMAP presidents were also in attendance to share their insights, with Ace Hardware’s Arnel Gamboa acting as the event’s moderator.
The Leaders’ Lunch is the successor of the organization’s previous CEO/CSCO Forum events, which also gathered key industry stakeholders and resulted in the Joint Philippine Supply Chain Declaration in 2014.
SCMAP looks forward to furthering its engagement with the country’s major supply chain stakeholders as it moves forward with its thrust of “one supply chain” to address long-standing concerns and allow the sector to better fulfill its role as the economy’s backbone and lifeblood.
