Arthur Tugade, the secretary of the Department of Transportation, will be joining as keynote speaker for SCC21 Live, this year’s edition of the SCMAP Supply Chain Conference, happening on 5-14 October.

Tugade will be speaking on the event’s first session, Shaping Supply Chain’s Next Big Story, happening on 5 October. He joins fellow keynote speaker William Chiongbian II of the Fast Logistics Group.

A graduate of San Beda College, Tugade was appointed secretary of transportation in 2016, and has since led efforts to develop the country’s transportation networks, including flagship projects for land, sea and air transport. Prior to this he was president and chief executive officer of the Clark Development Corporation, a state-owned corporation that manages the Clark Special Economic Zone, one of the country’s emerging logistics and business hubs.

His work in the private sector included stints with the Transnational Diversified Group, a company with interests in logistics and shipping, before founding Perry’s Group in 2003, which has businesses in logistics, transport, distribution and farming.

Also joining as a panelist for SCC21 Live is Constantin Robertz, the co-founder and chief executive officer of logistics solutions company Locad. Previously with Entrego and Zalora Philippines, he will be joining our panel Catering to Evolving Customer Demands on 12 October.

Further speakers and panelists will be announced in due course.
