In this special edition, Mapping the Government’s Next Steps, held last 26 August, we talked to government officials leading the country’s response against COVID-19 to gain their insights on immediate next steps and long-term plans for economic recovery.
Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, who co-chairs the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, discussed the government’s ongoing response to the pandemic. Dr Beverly Lorraine Ho, director of the Health Promotion Bureau of the Department of Health, talked about issues surrounding COVID-19 testing and the agency’s data collection. Finally, acting National Economic and Development Authority secretary Karl Chua talked about plans to ensure the country’s economic recovery in the coming months.
