Department of Trade and Industry assistant secretary Mary Jean Pacheco and fintech veteran Jojo Malolos will be speaking at Supply Chain Outlook, SCMAP’s kick-off event for the year, happening on 7 February 2020, from 12nn to 4pm, at the EDSA Shangri-la Manila in Mandaluyong City.

The event will explore the rise of the digital economy, and how supply chain can make the most of the opportunities presented by the emergence of e-commerce, cashless payment systems, and other new facets of the economy that is made possible by technology.

Pacheco, currently assistant secretary for the DTI’s Competitiveness and Innovation Group, is also leading the agency’s E-Commerce Office, which plays a key role in identifying and formulating policies pertaining to e-commerce and connecting major businesses, MSMEs and other stakeholders together. She most recently worked to bring together the country’s supply chain stakeholders – including SCMAP – and helped craft, with the private sector, the Ten Commitments of the Logistics Services Sector in the Philippines.

Malolos leads the efforts of JG Summit Holdings in better taking advantage of the digital space, as chief executive officer of data services firm Digital Analytics Ventures Inc. (DAVI) and of venture capitalist firm JG Digital Equity Ventures. He was most recently CEO of Wing, the leading mobile banking services provider in Cambodia, through which he helped expand its remit to cover what he called the “unbanked” and “underbanked”.

Registration for this event is now open: pre-registered rates are at PHP 2,200 for representatives of SCMAP member companies, and PHP 2,500 for non-members ; these only apply to those who register on or before 5pm of 6 February. Regular rate is at PHP 2,700 for both members and non-members. This is inclusive of lunch and refreshments.
