Mindanao Development Authority secretary Emmanuel Piñol leads the first set of confirmed speakers for Supply Chain Perspective, happening on 15 November 2019 at the Apo View Hotel in Davao City.
Piñol began his career as a print and broadcast journalist, before joining the government as a writer for former president Fidel Ramos. He entered public office in 1995 when he was elected mayor of M’lang, Cotabato, before becoming governor of the province from 1998 to 2007, and vice governor from 2010 to 2013.
In 2016, he was named secretary of the Department of Agriculture, being appointed by president Rodrigo Duterte. There he continued the agricultural advocacies he began as governor of Cotabato. He was appointed to his current position in August of this year.
Also confirmed to speak at the event is Raymund Acedera, head of on-shelf logistics for Logistikus Inc. A native of Cagayan de Oro, he previously worked for Unilever, Microsoft and the 2GO Group, and also teaches brand management at the University of the Philippines.
More speakers are set to be confirmed in the coming days.
Supply Chain Perspective is SCMAP’s whole-day conference exploring opportunities for the sector across the country. The third edition will be held in Davao on 15 November, after previous editions in Iloilo and Clark.
