Current SCMAP vice president Christine Pardiñas will assume the presidency of the organization from 2019 to 2020, succeeding current president Nestor Felicio, whose term concludes at the end of 2018.

Pardiñas, who represents Rustan Supercenters Inc., has been named SCMAP’s president-elect by her peers in the organization’s Board of Directors for 2018.

She is the first representative from the retailing industry to assume the top role in SCMAP, as well as its predecessor organization, the Distribution Management Association of the Philippines. Throughout its history the organization’s presidents have come from the manufacturing, distribution or logistics sectors. Her selection highlights the organization’s thrust towards attracting more retailers into its membership, as an important part of the end-to-end supply chain.

Dina Pilapil of LF Logistics will continue her role as the board secretary in 2018. Clarissa Castillo of Johnson & Johnson was named treasurer, while Arnel Gamboa of National Bookstore was named auditor.

Other directors include Anghelita Santor of Nestlé, Carlo Curay of XVC Logistics, German Martizano of Unilever, Mark Comandante of Zuellig Pharma and Tina Alvarez of Procter & Gamble.

The announcement was made during SCMAP’s 2018 Christmas fellowship, held last 1 December at the Makati Sports Club.

In 2016, SCMAP amended its by-laws ensuring stronger continuity and a better transition process between successive boards. It extended the term of SCMAP’s president to two years from one year, and introduced the position of president-elect, chosen during the current president’s second year in office, who will succeed the latter for the next two years.
