The Supply Chain Management Association of the Philippines is part of the recently launched ASEAN Mentorship for Entrepreneurs Network (AMEN), an initiative of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council to help entrepreneurs across the region by connecting them to expertise and knowledge from business leaders and mentors.

Launched during the recently concluded 2017 ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, held concurrently with the ASEAN Leaders’ Summit in Manila, it aims to connect micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises with business practitioners, academicians and fellow entrepreneurs, with the hope of enabling them to penetrate global value chains.

Over 90% of all domestic firms in the ASEAN region are said to be MSMEs. With the ASEAN moving towards “prosperity for all”, this initiative is seen as an important plank in ensuring inclusive growth across the region’s businesses and enterprises.

143 pioneer mentors across the ten ASEAN countries were part of the launch of AMEN, including SCMAP director Carlo Curay and former director Max Yap. The two are also currently mentors for GoNegosyo’s Kapatid MentorMe program, which served as a pilot program for AMEN. The two will now extend their reach to the region providing MSMEs with education on supply chain management, an important part of remaining competitive in this globalized economy.

The launch was led by ABAC chair (and GoNegosyo head) Joey Concepcion, and was graced by President Rodrigo Duterte.
