The first batch of confirmed speakers for the 2017 SCMAP Supply Chain Conference include industry leaders and policy makers, who are set to discuss issues and developments affecting the supply chain industry and its role in making the Philippines more competitive.
The conference, which will be held on 21-22 September 2017 at the EDSA Shangri-la Manila in Mandaluyong City, carried the theme Go World Class: Connect. Engage. Move. With a revamped programme, its sessions look at supply chain issues not just from the perspective of practitioners, but also through other stakeholders. The event recognizes the role supply chain plays in growing the economy, enhancing competitiveness and improving the lives of the people it serves.
The first session, entitled Connect: Linking the Philippines and the World, will tackle efforts to establish stronger linkages between our country and our neighbors in the region, as well as countries around the world. Joining us are Assistant Secretary Arturo Boncato Jr. of the Department of Trade and Industry; and Dr. Thomas Aquino, chairman of the REID Foundation and former senior undersecretary of the Department of Trade and Industry.
The second session, entitled Connect: Reaching Tomorrow’s Supply Chain Experts, will look at the challenge of attracting, developing and retaining new talent in supply chain – a critical issue considering the profession’s increased role and prominence. Joining us are James Michael Lafferty, country general manager of British American Tobacco Philippines; and Ramon Segismundo, president of the People Management Association of the Philippines and senior vice president for human resources and corporate services for Meralco.
Both those sessions will be held on the afternoon of Thursday, 21 September.
The third session, entitled Engage: Ensuring Customer Satisfaction Across the Supply Chain, will look at how supply chain impacts not just a businesses’ bottom line but also how customers perceive and enjoy its products and services. Joining us is Irwin Lee, chief executive officer of Rustan Supercenters, Inc.
The fourth session, entitled Engage: World Class Perspectives in Supply Chain, gathers supply chain leaders to share their insights, experiences and observations while working in supply chain in the Philippines and around the world. Joining us are Antonio Rivera, senior vice president for supply chain of Mead Johnson Nutrition; Luca Fichera, supply chain director of Nestlé Philippines; and Patricia Anna Cambel, One J&J supply chain director of Johnson & Johnson.
Both those sessions will be held on the morning of Friday, 22 September.
The fifth session, entitled Move: The Future Supply Chain, will look at trends and developments which are set to shape the supply chain industry. Joining us is Kenneth Lingan, country manager of Google Philippines. This session will be held on the afternoon of 22 September.
