The SCMAP Visayas chapter will hold a Supply Chain Management Forum on 20 January 2017, from 1pm to 5pm, at the Sarrosa International Hotel in Mabolo, Cebu City. The event will feature an economic and labor briefing, plus the election of the chapter’s new set of officers.

The economic briefing will be facilitated by Perry Fajardo, an economics professor at the University of San Carlos and a columnist for the Cebu Daily News. He will look at the economic prospects of the Visayas and Mindanao regions for the year ahead, as well as internal and external threats, and the possible impact of the new Duterte administration.

Also speaking is Philip Tan, the president and CEO of Wellmade Global Holding Inc. and the management representative to the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board for the Region 7 office of the Department of Labor and Employment. He will look at the efforts to remove the practice of “endo” and efforts to modernize contractualization in the country, and proposes solutions that will be a win-win for both workers and management.
