Update: The SCMAP Northern Luzon chapter launch has been moved to 15 February. More details here. Original post continues below.

SCMAP prepares to grow its presence to one of the major manufacturing and logistics hubs in the country with the launch of a new chapter serving northern and central Luzon.

The chapter, which will be based in the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga, will be officially launched on 24 January, from 10am, at the CDC Board Room, Clark Development Corporation Offices, Building 2125, Elpidio Quirino Street, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.

Speaking at the event are CDC OIC Noel Manankil and Clark International Airport Corporation OIC Alex Cauguiran. The event will also feature presentations from SCMAP national president Nestor Felicio and the induction of the chapter’s charter members.

The Northern Luzon chapter is expected to initially attract members among major locators in the Clark and Subic areas, like major manufacturers, retailers and logistics providers in the area. Ultimately the chapter is envisioned to attract members from other major hubs in the north such as in Dagupan and Baguio.

Championing the establishment of the chapter are Dr. Frankie Villanueva of Metro Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MACCCI) and Linda Pamintuan of the Subic Clark Alliance for Development (SCAD).

The establishment of the chapter is another milestone in SCMAP’s efforts to expand its reach to other parts of the country. It already has an active Visayas chapter based in Cebu, and several members based in Cagayan de Oro.
