Ongoing geopolitical conflicts – and brewing one – threaten to hamper cross-border trade and increase costs. Technological advances present new opportunities for businesses to improve their operations and reduce costs, but its potential impact on their employees and partners cannot be swept under the rug. Finally, increasing awareness of our impact on the environment is compelling stakeholders to make tangible and long-running efforts to reduce their impact on the planet.
Evolving customer preferences and demands also continue to impact the way we work. With e-commerce finding a place in the Filipino’s arsenal, and brick-and-mortar retail going through a transition and resurgence, supply chain players have to constantly innovate to be one step ahead. It is more evident now that it is not enough for us to go the extra mile, but to go beyond it – to elevate the total experience for customers, and to provide more value for them, as well as for the company’s shareholders, partners and employees. Tools such as technology and collaboration must be utilized in new and innovative ways to ensure these goals are met, if not surpassed.
