SCMAP Visayas sworn in their new Board of Directors during their first General Membership Meeting of the year, held last 1 March at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
The board is led by Marivic Esmero, representing Peer Cargo Movers Inc., the chapter’s former vice president.
Dr. Rodien Paca of Naga Port Shipping Marine Service is the chapter’s new vice president; Ma. Salome Masnayon of Northpoint, secretary; Arnold Jumalon of Boeing Material Handling, treasurer; Roberto Cabaero of Transfluent Management, auditor; and Gilbert Cabataña of LF Logistics, PRO.
Serving as directors and committee chairs are Alan Jesus Salmero of Gan Networks Inc., Alfie Amontos of ABM Global Solutions, Pablito Evangelista Jr. of Fast Logistics, Nilda Getalada of Onesource Logistics and Glenn Manguilimotan of Treasure Island Industrial Corporation.
The GMM earlier saw a discussion of the implications of the recently-passed tax amnesty law and the proposed next packages of tax reform with the help of Wendell Ganhinhin, head of the Cebu and Davao branches of P&A Grant Thornton, and the head of the Cebu chapter of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He was later joined by his colleague Atty. Kim Aranas in an open forum.
SCMAP’s Henrik Batallones also presented the national organization’s plans for the year ahead, and also served as the inducting officer of the Visayas BOD.
In her acceptance speech, Esmero thanked her predecessors and vowed to continue to build on the successes of the Visayas chapter, while also further leveraging on linkages forged with various stakeholders across the region.
