SCMAP’s Visayas chapter elected a new Board of Directors during its Supply Chain Management Forum, held on 20 January at the Sarrosa International Hotel in Cebu City.
The chapter’s board remains virtually intact, with Gilbert Cabataña of LF Philippines been reelected as president. The officers are as follows:

The SCMAP Visayas BOD also named committee co-chairs. Alfie Amontos will be heading the events committee; Alan Salmero, the academe committee; Glenn Manguilimotan, the membership committee; Richard Navida from Lancaster, the special projects committee; Caesar Azuelo from Tritek Reverse Logistics, the research committee; and Amelia Bartolome of Universal Outsource Associational Multi-purpose Cooperative, the marketing committee.
The event also featured two speakers providing an overview of what lies ahead for 2017. Perry Fajardo, an economics professor at the University of San Carlos and a columnist for the Cebu Daily News, provided an economic briefing, squaring in on the prospects of Visayas and Mindanao in 2017. Philip Tan, CEO of Wellmade Global Holding Inc., looked at win-win solutions for management and employees, especially with efforts to end the “endo” practice in the backdrop.
The event was attended by 80 delegates from across the province, including national BOD director Dina Pilapil and special events coordinator Annette Camangon, representing the SCMAP national chapter.
