The latest issue of SCMAP’s official magazine, Supply Chain Philippines, features an essay looking at what we can do to keep our supply chains moving, in light of the profession’s increased prominence amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the entry of a new Philippine government.

The magazine’s editor-in-chief, Henrik Batallones, lays out how important supply chain is not just in keeping our businesses competitive, but in bringing prosperity to underserved sectors of the economy, such as agriculture, and also enable better delivery of public services particularly in times of natural calamity. He argues for the continuation of initiatives focusing on supply chain competitiveness started in the last few years, and outlines initiatives that should be explored, both in infrastructure and policy.

The issue also explores the results of the most recent Logistics Efficiency Indicators survey commissioned by the Department of Trade and Industry; talks to the Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s Peter Wong about the Greater Bay Area; and updates from the last six months of (in-person and online!) SCMAP events.
