SCMAP Visayas held its International Summit last 23 July online via Zoom, bringing together supply chain experts from across the world to discuss global developments impacting the industry.

Mark Assaf of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development kicked off the event from Geneva by presenting a global picture of how supply chain responded to the COVID-19 pandemic, and efforts to improve trade facilitation among countries.

Supply chain expert Dr. Nazry Yahya, speaking from Malaysia, discussed how his country was impacted and are responding to these challenges, with a particular focus on multi-modal connectivity projects with other countries.

Finally, Karyn Welsh of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia spoke about how the pandemic affected supply chains in her home country, as well as on consumer sentiment and on the growth of e-commerce there.
