The Supply Chain Management Association of the Philippines is proud to support Kain Tayo Pilipinas in its fight to end hunger and malnutrition in the country.
Kain Tayo Pilipinas – led by members of the private sector, in partnership with various non-government organizations and government partners – is a campaign inviting the public to help feed more Filipinos and equip families with nutrition information to help alleviate malnutrition, especially among children. It is a flagship program of the Pilipinas Kontra Gutom movement, a multi-sectoral initiative led by the public and private sectors, which seeks to solve hunger in the Philippines by 2030.
The program brings together feeding program by various NGOs across the country, as well as an education program designed for mothers and children in their first 1,000 days of life. These efforts are aligned with programs developed by the National Nutrition Council and the Food and Nutrition Research Institute. To help coordinate these efforts, an analytics map will be rolled out to ensure zero overlap amongst these efforts as well as to target parts of the country with high prevalence of hunger.
In addition, a website, www.kaintayopilipinas.com, was launched to allow the public to donate as little as PHP 25 to the program’s partner NGOs to bring more meals and educate more Filipinos.
The program’s partner NGOs are ABS-CBN Foundation, GMA Kapuso Foundation, Kabisig ng Kalahi, Project Pearls, Rise Against Hunger, World Food Programme and Philippine Business for Social Progress. Also supporting are corporate sponsors Aboitiz Group, Century Pacific Food, Foodpanda, Grab, Johnson & Johnson, Lazada, McDonald’s, NestlĂ©, PayMaya, Unilever and Universal Robina Corporation; media and digital partners ABS-CBN, Facebook, GCash and GMA; and communications and production partners Publicis Groupe Philippines, Slingshot Media, Film Pabrika and Greenbulb Communications.
Kain Tayo Pilipinas was formally launched last 20 July in an event graced by Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, National Nutrition Council executive director Dr. Azucena Dayanghirang, PKG private sector lead Margot Torres, Kain Tayo Pilipinas lead Kristine Go, and Gawad Kalinga’s Mark Lawrence Cruz.
