The second week of #SCC20 Live – this year’s edition of the SCMAP Supply Chain Conference, reimagined for these extraordinary times – was held yesterday, 15 October, this time looking at new approaches and strategies that may further the way supply chain serves its customers.

The session was kicked off by industry veteran Antonio Sayo, member of the Board of Governors of the Employers Confederation of the Philippines and chair of the intellectual property committee of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He challenged participants to further step up as the COVID-19 pandemic brings new issues and opportunities to improve quality of life for Filipinos in the coming months.

Kuehne+Nagel’s Elisha Camus then set the stage with talking about whether supply chain players are truly taking advantage of new technologies available to them, and illustrated how these are being used elsewhere to improve service levels and customer satisfaction.

Then came the new approaches. Vuealta’s Joost Driessen and Anaplan’s Allen Xavier jointly discussed how to leverage technology to improve supply chain planning and making one’s operations more responsive; In1Go Technologies’ German Martizano talked of new approaches to transport management that will further visibility and trackability; and Synerbyte’s Cliff Eala proposed the use of artificial intelligence and data-driven technologies to make smarter delivery routes and lower costs.

If you missed this session, you can watch it on demand for the rest of 2020. Register by clicking here; it is free for SCMAP members and PHP 500 per session for non-members.

#SCC20 Live is this year’s edition of the SCMAP Supply Chain Conference, the most prestigious event in Philippine supply chain. Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the associated restrictions on physical gatherings, the event has been reimagined into three online events which will continue to explore supply chain’s greater role in connecting, engaging and moving lives, particularly during these extraordinary times. More speakers will be announced in the coming days.

This event is presented in partnership with Vuealta and Anaplan; sponsored by F2 Logistics, Fast Logistics, LF Logistics and SMYPC Logistics Services; and supported by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
