Davao del Norte governor Edwin Jubahib has been confirmed as one of the keynote speakers for Supply Chain Perspective, SCMAP’s day-long conference in Davao City, to be held on 15 November at the Apo View Hotel there.
Jubahib is governor of the agricultural center of the Davao region. Davao del Norte is the country’s leading producer of bananas, home to plantations from the likes of Del Monte, Dole and TADECO. It is also the region’s leading producers of rice, and also has a bustling fishing and mining industry. Panabo is also home to one of the region’s major ports, the Davao International Container Terminal.
Jubahib previously served as the personal assistant to congressman and former speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, and was elected to his position in 2019.
He joins previously announced keynote speaker Mindanao Development Authority secretary Emmanuel Piñol in the event.
Also speaking at Supply Chain Perspective is Atty. Erastus Sandino Austria of the Bureau of Customs, currently port collector of the Port of Davao. He was appointed to the post in 2017, and was previously port collector for the Port of Manila. He also served as a spokesperson for the agency.
Supply Chain Perspective is SCMAP’s regional event looking at the prospects and opportunities facing the supply chain sector across the country. After previous versions in Iloilo and Clark, this year the event is held in Mindanao, highlighting renewed optimism and interest in the region.
