SCMAP will hold the third Supply Chain Perspective – a day-long conference focusing on supply chain in the regions – on 15 November 2019 at the Apo View Hotel in Davao City.

The event, organized in cooperation with SCMAP’s newly-estalished Mindanao chapter, will bring together supply chain practitioners and stakeholders as they discuss prospects for business and supply chain in Davao and beyond.

This comes in the heels of renewed interest in Mindanao, already the focus of several flagship infrastructure projects from the government, and attracting increased investment from the private sector. Davao, in particular, is beginning to see new developments from major retailers, as well as proposals to expand its seaports and airports. The same picture is emerging in Cagayan de Oro to the north, and to other cities across the island.

SCMAP was last in the island in 2015, with the Mindanao Supply Chain Conference held in Cagayan de Oro. Since then, the organization has established a chapter based in Davao City, and has also participated in several logistics events in the region, most recently the Mindanao Logistics Summit in CDO.

Among issues to be tackled in the event are the rise of e-commerce, the region’s role in food security, and new developments in the region. More details will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
