SCMAP looked at the challenge of developing the next generation of supply chain talent at its General Membership Meeting held last 11 April at the EDSA Shangri-la Manila in Mandaluyong City.
The gathering aimed to bring together insights from various stakeholders across the supply chain – from traditional players such as manufacturers and logistics providers, to the academe – in understanding the factors that affect the hiring of new supply chain practitioners and how and where they are developed.
The GMM saw the presentation of the initial results of a focus group discussion identifying the qualities supply chain managers are looking for in new hires, led by SCMAP director Dario Arive Jr.
Later, a panel discussion including SCMAP directors Dina Pilapil and Nestor Felicio, SCMAP North Luzon president Dr. Frankie Villanueva and Fast Logistics chief operating officer Manny Onrejas fleshed out these results, exploring aspects such as continuing education, company culture and the changing needs of the new generation.
The GMM also saw the induction of thirteen new members: Converge ICT Solutions, Crown Equipment, Entrego Fulfillment Solutions Inc., Inteluck Corporation, Lexus Industrial Enterprise Corporation, Mary Kay Philippines, Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc., Readyman Inc., Shiptek Solutions Inc., TGP Pharma Inc., Worklink Services, and the 2GO Group.
The next GMM will be held on 20 June, with more details closer to the date.
This event was sponsored by Entrego and Converge ICT.
