A record number of delegates took part as SCMAP Visayas mounted the second Sharpening the Supply Chain Practitioners seminar, held last 9 February at the Harolds Hotel in Cebu City.
Around 150 representatives from 45 companies took part, with participants not limited to companies in Visayas – there were attendees coming from Manila and various cities in Mindanao, looking to hear unique perspectives on supply chain fundamentals, trends and challenges.
Allan Flores of Monde Nissin Philippines channeled his decades of experience with supply chain for FMCGs to tackle agile supply chains, and how companies can ensure their operations are flexible and responsive.
Providing an engineer’s perspective is Nestor Dolina of the Adsia Group of Companies, who took a deep dive into warehousing and transportation concerns, outlining the importance of data mining and analysis in making decisions about capacity-building and fleet management.
Rounding out the event was LF Logistics’ Carlo Magno, who illustrated the impact of innovation and digitization on the supply chain, providing a glimpse into the future – or, arguably, the now.
The half-day event showed SCMAP’s continuing commitment to advancing supply chain across the Philippines, and particularly the Visayas chapter’s goals of bringing world class supply chain perspectives to local audiences. The chapter, which was founded five years ago, now boasts 41 members among companies based in Cebu.
The event was sponsored by LF Logistics, Tritek Reverse Logistics, IJ Transport and Spark88.
