The Supply Chain Management Association of the Philippines was recognized by the country’s regulator on maritime affairs for its contribution to the maritime industry.
SCMAP received honors at the first National Maritime Week Recognition Night, spearheaded by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), held on 28 September at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
Representing the organization during the event were president Nestor Felicio, past president Corazon Curay and executive director Norman Adriano. The honor was personally presented by MARINA administrator Marcial Quirico Amaro III, PhD.
Throughout its history SCMAP has worked to promote better standards and training for those in the maritime industry, recognizing its important role in Philippine supply chain, particularly due to the country’s archipelagic nature and high emphasis on sea transport to deliver goods across the country.
This year’s National Maritime Week is themed on the industry’s role in promoting connectivity, through the development of ships, ports and people.
