Three more speakers have been confirmed to take part at the 2017 SCMAP Supply Chain Conference, happening on 21-22 September 2017 at the EDSA Shangri-la Manila, adding to an already rich panel of industry leaders and policy makers as they look at issues and opportunities confronting supply chain and its role in Filipino lives.
Renowned architect and urban planner Felino “Jun” Palafox Jr. will be speaking on the conference’s first day. After beginning his career with the Department of Public Works and Highways, and overseeing several planning projects in Manila and Dubai, he founded his own practice, Palafox Associates, in 1989. It is now the country’s most acclaimed architecture firm, with projects in 39 countries in Asia, the Middle East and North America.
Also joining the conference is Richard Barclay, the chief executive officer of Manila North Harbour Port Inc. A familiar face to the SCMAP Supply Chain Conference, he has worked in the shipping industry for many decades, with stints for Australian National Line, P&O Ports and Asian Terminals Inc., before assuming his current role. He was also president of the Australia-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines from 2002 to 2010.
They join Asec. Arturo Boncato Jr. of the Department of Trade and Industry and Dr. Thomas Aquino of the REID Foundation on the conference’s first session, Connect: Linking the Philippines and the World, which will be held in the afternoon of 21 September.
Taking part in the conference’s second day is Michael Kurt Raeuber, the group chief executive officer of Royal Cargo Inc., a conglomerate specializing in logistics and transportation founded in the Philippines and now operating in ten countries. He was also president of the European Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and is currently co-vice chairman of the Integrity Initiative, as well as chair of the infrastructure and transportation committee of the EU-Philippines Business Network.
He joins Irwin Lee of Rustan Supercenters Inc. on the conference’s third session, Engage: Ensuring Customer Satisfaction Across the Supply Chain, which will be held in the morning of 22 September.
The SCMAP Supply Chain Conference is the organization’s flagship event, gathering industry leaders, supply chain experts and policy makers to look at the issues, challenges and opportunities for supply chain in the Philippines. It is also the widest gathering of supply chain practitioners in the country, with an exhibit bringing together top logistics service and product providers.
